Minerva Academy delivered a commanding performance in the AIFF Junior League, defeating Roundglass Punjab FC 3–2 in a match that was far more dominant than the final scoreline suggests.

From the opening whistle, Minerva imposed high intensity and aggressive pressing, taking full control of the game. The early pressure paid immediate dividends as Denamoni opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, capitalising on sustained attacking momentum.

Minerva continued to dominate possession and territory, relentlessly attacking down the flanks and through central channels. The wingers caused constant problems for the Roundglass Punjab defence, creating multiple clear-cut opportunities. Despite hitting the crossbar and missing several chances, Minerva maintained total control and doubled their lead when L. Mahesh scored in first-half stoppage time (45+1’), making it 2–0 at the break.

The second half followed the same pattern, with Minerva dictating tempo and dismantling Roundglass Punjab’s low defensive block. Continuous penetration from wide areas and sustained pressure kept the opposition on the back foot.

Against the run of play, Roundglass Punjab scored on a counterattack while Minerva were pressing high — a moment that did little to reflect the overall balance of the match. Unshaken, Minerva responded with determination. The decisive third goal arrived in the 84th minute when K. Chetan finished clinically to restore the two-goal advantage. The immediate reaction of Minerva players — retrieving the ball quickly to restart play — highlighted their hunger for more goals.

A late long-range free kick allowed Roundglass Punjab to reduce the deficit to 3–2, but Minerva continued to attack until the final whistle, showcasing their attacking intent and dominance throughout.

Despite the narrow scoreline, Minerva Academy controlled proceedings, created the majority of chances, and delivered a performance defined by intensity, organisation, and attacking superiority.

With this victory, Minerva Academy further strengthens its position at the top of Group A, continuing an outstanding run in the AIFF Junior League. Sitting firmly at the summit with 4 matches played, 12 points, and a remarkable +29 goal difference, Minerva stood well above the competition, showcasing consistent dominance both in results and performances. The team’s attacking intent, tactical control, and relentless mentality underline their status as the benchmark side in the group, as Minerva continues its commanding march forward in the league.
