Former Chief Minister of Haryana and INLD supremo Om Prakash Chautala, who was found guilty in the case of disproportionate assets, has been sentenced   for years jail and imposed 50 lacs fine by special  CBI Court on Friday.

CBI special court also ordered that four properties of Chautala to be confiscated.

The Rouge Avenue Court yesterday had reserved the verdict on the sentence after hearing both the parties and was convicted earlier on May 21 in a  disproportionate assets case.

The Rouge Avenue Court has imposed a hefty fine of Rs. 50 lakhs on Chautala.

On the other hand, if Chautala does not pay the fine of Rs. 50 lacs, the four properties of Chautala which the court has ordered to be confiscated include one on Haley Road in Delhi, one in Asola, one each in Gurugram and Panchkula. (SUBHEAD)

Earlier Chautala made an appeal before the court on behalf  and argued that he was very old now and physically   incapacitated. In view of which they should be given relief in punishment But no argument from Chautala could be heard in the court and the court announced the sentence.

On behalf of CBI, the argument of Om Prakash Chautala's lawyer was opposed in the court. On behalf of CBI, it was stated in the court that Om Prakash Chautala should be given maximum punishment as it will send a message to the society. This is because Om Prakash Chautala is a public figure But if they get minimum punishment then it will send wrong message to the society. The CBI had argued that the old history of Om Prakash Chautala is not clear, this is the second case in which he has been convicted.

The CBI has filed a chargesheet against Om Prakash Chautala in the disproportionate assets case. According to the CBI, Chautala has amassed assets worth crores of rupees between 1993 and 2006.He had recently completed his sentence and was released from Tihar  jail. in JBT recruitment Scam.

Earlier Om Parkash Chautala, whose grand son Dushayant Chautala is Deputy CM in Haryana gone to jail in JBT teacher recruitment scam along with son Ajay Singh .

Om Prakash Chautala's sentence was completed last year and he was released from Tihar Jail on July 2
