Four armed robbers with muffled faces snatched Rs 1 crore in cash at gunpoint from the property dealer's office near to State Bank of India on Main Highway and fled away on a bike. While fleeing, a robber shot and severely injured one of the three fruit sellers chasing them. The bullet hit his right temple, he has been admitted to PGIMR.
Later, the two robbers snatched the bike of a young man at the point of a pistol and fled towards Zirakpur. Police have registered a case of robbery and nabbed three suspected accomplices of the robbers from Zirakpur and investigation is on.
The incident took place around 12:15 pm. Here, Derabassi resident Harjeet Nagpal had arrived at his office with Rs 1 crore in two bags with him to earn a deposit in a land deal. Nambardar Manjeet from Sundara village and Jagtar alias Major Singh of Mor Thikri were also present with him on the occasion. Meanwhile, four robbers came on two motorcycles. One quickly picked up both the bags on the shoulder and slipped behind the bike. The two robbers with bags turned towards Zirakpur and disappeared. According to Harjeet, the robbers covered their faces and could not identify them. Seeing their noise, the other two robbers, seeing themselves surrounded, left their bikes and ran across the highway. Behind them, some people were seen standing outside, planting fruits.
The two entered an alley of Dadpura locality on Anaj Mandi Road. Zeeshan and Raja from Rehri, who were following him, said that when they surrounded Happy's house in the street, a robber pulled out a pistol and fired two shots. However, Happy heard the same sound of fire which hit Sabir's right temple.
The robbers aimed their pistols at Govinda, who was buying fruits near Axis Bank and fled towards Zirakpur after snatching his splendor motorcycle PB70 3266. According to Govinda, he chased them on another bike with a friend but they disappeared. Meanwhile, 37-year-old Mohammad Sabir son Mohammad Nizamuddin has been referred to PGI from Derabassi Civil Hospital.
In a press conference after visiting the spot, SSP Vikasshil Soni said that the police had charged Ranjodh Singh Gill, son of Harjeet Nagpal, under the Arms Act in addition to Sections 307 and 120B of the IPC for armed robbery on the charge of armed robbery. Pargat Singh has registered a case against Jira, Maninder Singh and their two unidentified accomplices. Among them, Ranjodh and his two suspected accomplices are being detained and questioned.
Hero Honda motorcycle of Punjab number left in Derabassi while fleeing has also been seized by the police and started investigation. The police have expressed hope that the entire case will be settled after arresting all the accused in a day or two.

Mr. Vivek Sheel Soni, SSP Mohali said that upon investigation it was found that the property dealer Mr.Harjit Singh Rampal today had a business dealing with the accused.He said that they were meeting regularly and had a meeting at their office today at 11 am. The accused brought along some more people in the meeting and they had pistol with them. They snatched the money of Rs.1 crore from the property dealer and ran away with the money. When they were running away, they were chased by a fruit vendor named Md Shabbir. During scuffle there was a fire and Md Shabbir got injured in head. He is in PGI and is out of danger. SSP said that two people have been rounded up so far. FIR has been registered against two people by name and other unknown accused under section 307, 397 IPC. FIR number – 193/22, PS Dera BassI.
