CI SLEUTHS NABS FOUR PERSONS, RECOVERS ARMS AND AMMUNITION

The sleuths belonging to Counter Intelligence (CI) wing of Punjab police (Ferozepur) have arrested four persons and have recovered four pistols along with eight magazines from them.

While divulging details, Lakhbir Singh AIG Counter Intelligence said that following the inputs, a naka had been laid near village Chuchak Vind in Mallanwala block. “The CI sleuths had received the information that the accused identified as David son of Bhola Bhatti and resident of Village Vadala in Amritsar, Sukhchain Singh alias Chaina resident of Village Talwanid Mango in Zira sub-division, Sahil alias Sam alias Samual resident of Village Khalchian Qadim in Sadar area and Lovepreet Singh alias Lovely in Village Dhol Kalan were involved in the smuggling of firearms. The CI sleuths nabbed the accused near Village Chuchak Vind while they were travelling in a car (DL 1 CAE 6959). During the search, four pistols (.32 bore) along with 8 magazines and 11 live rounds were recovered from them”, said AIG Lakhbir Singh.

Following the recovery, the accused were booked under sections 25, 54, 59 Arms Act at SSOC Fazilka (FIR No. 02 Dated 07.09.2022).

The AIG said that during the preliminary investigation it came to fore that the accused used to bring these illegal firearms from Khandwa district in Madhya Pradesh and sell later in Punjab to different people. “Already several cases have been registered against the accused at various police stations. More revelations are expected in this case”, said AIG.
