Chairman All India Kisan Congress and Bholath MLA, Sukhpal Singh Khaira today demanded dismissal of Fauja Singh Sarari, Minister for Freedom Fighters, Defence Services Welfare, Food Processing and Horticulture after his reported conversation with his OSD, in which he is planning to trap some officials and get money from them, got leaked.
Khaira also released the audio clip on his Twitter handle. In the conversation, the minister is allegedly discussing the plan to trap some officials and then extort bribes from them.
“This is an open and shut case”, Khaira remarked, while hoping that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will sack and get this minister arrested the same way he got former Health Minister Dr Vijay Singla arrested and jailed.
He said, although Mann had claimed to be possessing lot proof against Dr Singla, but he did not reveal it even till now, nor could the prosecution produce any evidence against Singla in the court.
(SUBHEAD)“Sarari has not left anything to doubt and his audio recording is already in public domain”, the Bholath MLA said, while pointing out, the government has set a precedent of its own when it dismissed and jailed Dr Singla, which at that time looked like a drama and eventually proved to be a drama.
“If the government does not act against Sarari, then public belief that AAP government enacted a drama in Dr Singla’s case, as it wanted to project an image of ‘zero tolerance’ against corruption ahead of Sangrur parliamentary by-elections, will get reaffirmed”, the firebrand Congress legislator asserted.
Moreover, he added, this will be a test case for Bhagwant Mann who has been telling people to make recording of any demands for corruption and has dedicated a telephone line for this purpose. “Here you have everything, let us see how fast you act, if you really have any intention to act”, he told the Chief Minister.
