BSF TROOPS RECOVERED PLASTIC BOTTLE FILLED WITH HEROIN WORTH RS. FIVE CRORES

Alert forward deployed Border Security Force (BSF) troops on Sunday during afternoon hours,  observed a plastic cold-drink bottle (02 L) tied with water hyacinth, suspiciously floating in the mid-stream of Sutlej river flowing from Pakistan to India side, in the area falling near village – Pritam Singh Wala under Ferozepur district.

The bottle alongwith bunch of hyacinths was brought out of river by BSF troops. Further, on opening the bottle white granular substance, suspected to be heroin (gross weight – appx 01 kgs) was recovered . The contraband valued five crores in international market.

Smugglers / anti – national elements are trying hard to push the contrabands inside Indian territory by all possible means, but their attempts are being foiled by alert BSF troops.  

BSF spokesman further said, earlier on ntervening night of 13th / 14th Sept 2022 forward deployed BSF troops of 103 Bn BSF heard humming / buzzing sound of suspected flying object, entering inside Indian territory and further returning to Pakistan territory in two sorties. BSF troops tried to engage the suspected drone with fire during incoming as well as outgoing movement. Immediately, the whole depth area was cordoned and the escape routes were chocked by troops.(SUBHEAD)

During search at night, a depth patrol party of BSF spotted a motorcycle near T- junction at Rajoke – Madar Road. BSF troops covered the road to stop and frisk two persons on the motorcycle. The driver slowed down the motorcycle and just before reaching close to the party, he accelerated the motorcycle with full speed to escape away. Troops tried to stop the motorcycle but the riders managed to escape. BSF troops fired on the smugglers / ANEs, in order to stop.  

Matter has been reported to Police station and complaint lodged against the unknown suspects

Spokesman further said, BSF is taking strict action against the smugglers and anti – nationals’ elements. Whosoever tries to cross the border / border – fence at night. BSF troops fire at the anti-national elements, especially at those coming from Pakistan. BSF also fires at such smugglers who come near the border area to collect weapons, explosives, narcotics, etc which are sent to India by Pakistan based terrorists through drones. BSF practices zero tolerance against the smugglers and anti – national elements, who are involved in smuggling of arms, explosive and narcotics.
