Face2News/Chandigarh

Punjab Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer has congratulated the Indian women's cricket team for winning all the 3 matches ODI series against England.

The Sports Minister said that the Indian women's team has won the series in England after 23 years and made this victory even more memorable by winning the series 3-0.

It is noteworthy that India defeated England by 16 runs in the 3rd ODI at Lord's last night.\

Meet Hayer said that today is International Daughter's Day and while congratulating the players he said that our girls are leaving a unique mark in the field of sports. He said that it is a matter of pride for Punjab that Captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Harleen Kaur Deol are an important part of the team. Harleen took three catches in the third ODI. He also congratulated team captain Harmanpreet Kaur for becoming the player of the series and retiring fast bowler Jhulan Goswami for a brilliant career.

It may be recalled that recently Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann honoured three Commonwealth Games silver medalist players of the women's team Harmanpreet Kaur, Harleen Kaur Deol and Tania Bhatia with prize money of Rs. 50 lakh.
