SAD (A) EXPRESS THEIR RESENTMENT ON ABOLISHMENT OF SIKH REGIMENT FROM INDIAN ARMY

Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) District President Gurcharan Singh Bhullar along with other party members today handed over a memorandum to the Additional Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur Sagar Setia. The SAD members said that central government has reduced the service time of Indian army for the youth and now the platoons and regiments of Indian Army which represent different communities, are also being abolished.

The SAD (A) members said due to this, the Sikh regiments, which has a glorious history of more than 250 years, is now being abolished and merged into the Indian Army. “there is a wave of protest among the Sikh community and various Sikh organizations due to act and we condemn this”, said Gurcharan Bhullar SAD (A) District President.(SUBHEAD)

Speaking further, Bhullar said that Sikh regiments have a glorious history of more than 250 years, from Banda Singh Bahadur to Maharaja Ranjit. Sikh regiments have been an important contribution in establishing Singh's state, apart from this, Afghanistan, which was never won by anybody, was also occupied by Sikh regiments during the time of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
