Ashwani Ahuja, a prolific writer, who had served as principal in some government schools in the border district of Fazilka, has been honoured with the Best Story Award for Hindi feature film 'Uljhan: The Topper Blues' that he had directed also.
The award was recently given at the Café Irani Chaii International Film Festival 2022 held in Mumbai. A Certificate of Appreciation was given to him for his writing skills in the film that was released last year on MX Player which was highly appreciated by the audience and the film had a rating of 9 on IMDB which is still intact today.(SUBHEAD)(MOREPIC2)
Most of the shooting of the film 'Uljhan: The Topper Blues' was done in Jyoti B.Ed College in Rampura village and surrounding area. Some portions of the film were also shot at Tantia University, Sriganganagar near Abohar and Chandigarh.
The duration of the film is one hour forty minutes. In this, the artists of Natrang Theatre Society Abohar, Vikas Batra, Vishnu Narayan, Vasu, Honey Utreja, Tushar Sethi, Ashok Gumber, Pooja Kalra, Sunil Verma, Guljinder Kaur, Sandeep Sharma played supporting roles and Rajan Grover and Simran Sindhu were in the lead roles. The film was directed by Ashwini Ahuja and Satwant Kahlon.
