A complaint was received in Cyber police station New Delhi on On 10.10.2022, from Sr. Vice President of a building construction related material seller that their services are available online as well as offline. Certain customers have placed orders on their portal after breaching the checks in payment page in such a manner that their system received manipulated input that successful payments have been made for their orders, without actually paying.
(MOREPIC1) This way an unknown person has made orders of about 33 Lac without payment. After preliminary inquiry case FIR dated 09.11.22 U/s 43/66 IT Act & 420 IPC has been registered in this regard.
To nab the criminal and to solve the case a team comprising SI Manjeet Singh, SI Vipin, HC Dharamveer, HC Sandeep 2108/ND, HC Drona and Ct Ramraj headed by SHO/Insp. Vijay Pal, under the supervision of Sh. Ratan Lal, ACP Operations New Delhi. During the investigation technical analysis was done and it was found that one person R/o Burari was identified and interrogated in the case who told that he has knowledge of Cyber forensics and used to check websites, he found a technical glitch in website of the building construction related material seller and ordered for some electrical items without paying any money.(SUBHEAD)
He placed order on this site and received delivery of items as ordered. He then sold this idea against 35 thousand rupees, to one person namely Shivam Verma R/o Rajgarh Colony, Delhi who met him on a group on whatsapp only. Through technical surveillance, accused Shivam Verma was apprehended and interrogated who told that he had arranged SIM cards and mobile on fake ids and shared this idea further to his friend Rohit Bansal who has a paint shop in Uttam Nagar and can dispose off the purchased items.
Rohit Bansal has also purchased buckets form the online portal the above mentioned building construction related material seller, without payment. On the instance of Shivam Verma, co accused Rohit Bansal R/o Janakpuri, Delhi was also arrested. One laptop used in the crime and Rs. 1.5 lac cash were recovered on the instance of accused Shivam Verma from his house. 254 paint buckets have also been recovered on the instance of accused Rohit Bansal.
INTERROGATION: Mr. Pranav Tayal, IPS, DCP New Delhi Distt, said on interrogation, accused Shivam Verma r/o Rajgarh Colony, Delhi told that he tried different online methods to earn money. He used to play on different sites with bitcoin but he lost. Then he learnt the trick from one person who is a R/o Burari of ordering goods from a site of building construction related material seller by bypassing the payment gateway.
After that Shivam Verma and Rohit Bansal R/o Janakpuri, Delhi have placed orders mentioning different addresses using fake Id SIM cards. Using this technique they had ordered paints of a total amount approx. 33.60 lacs rupees, Out of which they have sold some goods of amount approx. 13 Lac and remaining is recovered on their instance. The accused persons further revealed that they had stopped transactions, once they learnt that employees of the particular building construction related material seller are now aware of their technique.
KNOE THE ACCUSED: The accused Shivam Verma S/o Raju Verma R/o Gali no. 4, Rajgarh Colony, Delhi age 22 years is pursuing his graduation from distance education. He used to play online gambling games on different sites.
Accused Rohit Bansal S/o Rakesh Kumar R/o Janakpuri, New Delhi age 26 years is 11th pass. He used to sit in a paint shop run by his father and brother. He was previously arrested in 2018 in Ghaziabad in case FIR no. 138/2018 U/s 407 IPC PS Surajpur, Ghaziabad, UP
RECOVERY: Laptop, 1.5 Lac cash, 254 Paint buckets worth Rs 21,000,00/-
