ENTIRE STOLEN JEWELLERY (47 GOLD DIAMOND RINGS) WORTH RS 16 LAKH RECOVERED. “TARA GUJRATI GANG” TARGET SUPPLIER IN JEWELLRY MARKET ON RUNNING E-RICKSHAW. 250 E-RICKSAWS & 100 CCTV CAMERAS GOT VERIFIED TO ASCERTAIN THE ROUTE OF ACCUSED PERSONS.

With the arrest of three accused persons involved in theft of Gold-diamond jewellery worth Rs 16 Lakh on running e-Rickshaw namely (1) Tara W/o Sh. Ashok R/o Raghubir Nagar, Delhi (age 49 ), (2) Meera W/o Sanjay R/o Raghubir Nagar, Delhi (Age 30 Yrs) (3) Pawan s/o Govind R/o Tagor Garden, Delhi (age 22 yrs), the staff of PS Karol Bagh, Central Distt has worked out a BLIND THEFT CASE with 100% recovery of diamond & gold jewellery.
Police said, on 08.12.2022, complainant Sh.Brijesh Kumar Tiwari lodged an e FIR No. 918/22, U/S 379 IPC at PS Karol Bagh. During the course of investigation, complainant was examined in which he stated that he works in H.V.K Jewellers Pvt Ltd, Karol Bagh, Delhi as Salesman. On 08.12.2022, at about 12.30PM, he was going to show jewellery (47 Diamond Gold ladies rings, worth Rs 16 Lakh) to a customer at Trinagar, Delhi. He boarded in an e-Ricksaw from Sarasvati Marg, Karol Bagh and sat on the rear seat. The jewllery was kept in a bag and he was carrying the bag on the lap. Two ladies were sitting on front seat and one boy was sitting with driver in the e-Ricksaw.
After some time the driver of e-Ricksaw sent a boy with complainant at rear seat saying that “aage traffic wale check kar rahe hai” . The two ladies flow her shawl on the bag of complainant and the said boy deliberately dropped his cap on the road to distract the complainant. In the mean time the ladies opened the zip of bag and stole the jewellery packet from the bag of complainant.(SUBHEAD)
As the matter was concerned with the noted jewellery market in Karol Bagh, Delhi. Hence, keeping in view the sensitivity of case a dedicated team comprising SI.Vikram Singh, ASI Jitender Kumar, HC Monu Kumar, HC Manoj Kumar, HC Kapil Tomer, Ct Rajesh & Ct Niranjan, W/Ct Himanshi under the supervision of Insp Deepak Kumar Malik, SHO/Karol Bagh and overall supervision of Ms Vidushi Kaushik, ACP/Karol Bagh was constituted to nabbed the criminals.
During the course of investigation detailed examination of complainant as well as other employees of jewellery showroom was conducted to rule out the possibility of internal involvement of any employees. The CCTV footage of jewellery showroom as well as route used by the accused persons was procured and analysed at length. The accused persons came in a without-number plate e-Ricksaw to hide their identity and they did not even use any mobile phone during the entire incident. Therefore, it was a big challenge for the investigating agency to identify the accused persons.
After diligent & continuous efforts, it was found that one of accused had golden colour hairs and his accent was gujrati. The dedicated team analysed more than 100 CCTV footages of such types of e-ricksaw and after verification / interrogation of around 250 e-Ricksaws, the route of suspected e-ricksaws was ascertained.
Secret informers were deputed and information was gathered. Finally, it was established that accused persons belong to the area of J.J. Colony, Raghubir Nagar, Delhi.
The team members started searching & tracing the accused persons and verified from around 300 – 400 local shopkeepers & clusters residents and the team stroked the house of one of the accused persons at J.J. Colony, Raghubir Nagar. Search of accused persons was made door to door at J.J. Colony, Raghubir Nagar, Delhi.
From local enquiry, it was found that the family is famous in the area with the name of “Tara Gujrati Gang” as all the family members commit theft & other criminal activities. Raid was conducted but the accused persons fled from there, after vacating their house. Thereafter, the team members were deputed in civil clothes at J.J. Colony, Raghubir Nagar and Tagore Garden to develop the information about the accused persons.
On 16.12.2022, ASI JItender Kumar received an information about one of the accused persons and one of the accused persons namely Pawan S/o Govind was arrested . Accused was produced before court and taken on 02 days PC Remand. During PC Remand sustained interrogation was conducted.
In the mean time, a secret informer gave information that other accused person are coming towards Piragarhi, Delhi to sell the stolen jewellery articles. The information of secret informer was worked upon and a dedicated team comprising SI Vikram Singh, ASI Jitender Kumar, HC Monu Kumar, HC Manoj Kumar, HC Kapil Tomer, Ct Rajesh, Ct Niranjan & W/Ct Himanshi under the supervision of Insp Deepak Kumar Malik, SHO/Karol Bagh and overall supervision of Ms Vidushi Kaushik, ACP/KB in civil clothes got placed near Peeragarhi, Delhi.
Complainant and secret informer was also got involved in the raid to identify the accused persons. Thereafter, the team members overpowered and apprehended the 02 other accused persons namely Tara & Meera. During sustained interrogation, accused persons confessed committing the crime and on their instance, all the jewellery articles of Gold & Diamond were recovered from their possession.
MODUS OPERANDI: They work in a gang. Tara has borrowed an e-rikshaw on monthly rent and pawan used to drive the e-rikshaw. Both Tara & Meera pretend as passenger and stole the valuable articles on running e-riksaw. All the accused persons belongs to Palitana, District Bhavnagar, Gujrat and all are relative of each other. They used e-Rickshaw to make people their target. All accused persons have already been arrested in other cases.
