LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES DUE TO CONSUMPTION OF THE SPURIOUS LIQUOR ACCUSED PREVIOUSLY ALSO INVOLVED IN 7 CASES

Information was received and developed by the Inter State Cell, Crime Branch, Chankyapuri, Delhi that one Ram Babu Mahto R/o Village Doila, PO Mashrakh, District Saran, Bihar, wanted in the cases related to spurious liquor tragedy in Bihar, may be hiding somewhere in Delhi.
Bihar Police was contacted and it was established that accused Ram Babu Mahto is one of the most wanted in cases registered vide 1). FIR No. 280/2022, dated 14/12/2022, U/s 272/273/328/308/304/120-B IPC & 30-A/33/34 Bihar Excise Act- 2016, PS Isuapur, District Saran, Bihar & 2). Case FIR No. 583/2022, Dated 14/12/2022, U/s 272/273/328/308/304/120-B IPC & 30-A/33/34 Bihar Excise Act- 2016, PS Mashrak, District Saran, Bihar. As per reports around 80 people died in these tragic incidents related to sale and consumption of spurious liquor.
Mr.Ravindra Singh Yadav, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police, Crime, said, accused Ram Babu Mahto was one of the key players in the entire episode where several people lost their lives.When Bihar Police was searching for him, he shifted his locations and absconded from Bihar. The information was worked upon quickly by a dedicated team to nab him at the earliest.(SUBHEAD)
A dedicated team of Inter State Cell, Crime Branch, Chankyapuri, Delhi comprising of SI Rakesh, ASI Dharmender, Ct. Sukhdev & Ct. Amit led by Insp. Sanjay Kumar Gupta under the supervision of Sh. Ramesh Chander Lamba, ACP/ISC/Crime Branch was constituted by Sh. Vichitra Veer, DCP/Crime to collect specific inputs and to nab the accused.
On the basis of technical surveillance as well as specific inputs the accused Ram Babu Mahto R/o Village Doila, PO Mashrakh, District Saran, Bihar was arrested from the area of Dwarka in Delhi. Appropriate legal action is being taken and information about arrest of accused has been shared with Bihar Police for further action.
KNOW THE ACCUSED: Accused Ram Babu Mahto belongs to a farming family having four brothers and two sisters. He was born in Bihar and has studied upto 8th class only. His family is not in good financial condition as claimed by him . However owing to the prohibition in the state of Bihar, he sensed an opportunity to make quick and easy money and got indulged in manufacturing and selling of spurious Liquor.
