The Union Ministry of Environment and Forestsissued instructions last evening to protect the sanctity of Sammed Shikharji Mountain area and its surrounding wildlife sanctuary. A letter has been sent by Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to Union Forest Minister Bhupendra Yadav to respect the feelings of Jains regarding Shri Sammed Shikharji.
The Vishwa Jain Sangathan has accordingly decided to postpone the countrywide movement after the assurance of accepting Shikharji as the world famous holy and worship pilgrimage site of the Jain community and develop it as a religious pilgrimage site.(SUBHEAD)
Dr. Sandeep Kumar Jain, Chief Coordinator of the Sangathan’s Punjab Chapter, General Secretary Ravinder Jain, Deputy Coordinator Purushottam Jain, Joint Secretary Rakesh Jain (Guru Sevak Family) have welcomed the letters issued by the Central Government and Jharkhand Government.
In this effort, the Jain society has shown its strength for the first time. Various Acharyas, Bhagwants, Munirajs blessed for this victory and Sanjay Jain, National President of World Jain Organization and Ruchi Jain, President of Mahila Cell, who sat on fast unto death, conducted this non-violent movement with the help of various organizations.
Sanjay Jain said that the Union Minister was informed about the demands of the Jain community in the meeting organized by the representatives of various organizations in the Forest Ministry yesterday. After getting the consent, it was announced to postpone Shri Sammed Shikhar Ji Bachao Andolan.
He said that a final decision will be taken after detailed study and consultation with senior and experienced legal experts so that the holy pilgrimage is protected and sanctity and independence maintained. All the meetings scheduled by the organization in the coming days have been postponed for the time being. If any deficiency is found in the instructions of the Central Government or Jharkhand Government does not take proper action, then a decision will be taken for the future course of action.
