Border Security Force (BSF) reported to have recovered 500 gm. contraband heroin worth 2.5 crores in international from Indo Pak Border in Distt. Taran Tarn on Monday afternoon.
BSF spokesman from Jalandhar Punjab Frontier, said, on Monday during afternoon hours, amidst dense foggy condition, alert Border Security Force troops deployed on border heard sound of something thrown over the border fence towards own side of fencing in the area falling near Village – Mehandipur, District – Tarn Taran. However, the smugglers managed to escape taking advantage of dense fog.
Further, during initial search of the area, troops recovered 01 packet of narcotics suspected to be Heroin (Gross wt – 500 Gms) wrapped in yellow colour polythene.
Vigilant BSF troops, once again were able to foil nefarious design of smugglers to smuggle contrabands.
