A team of AATS, South District has done commendable work by busting a gambling racket with the arrest of 20 persons including the two kingpins of gambling racket namely Nizam @ Bhutto, Vikas, Ranjit, Ram Prasad, Vikash, Anish, Umesh, Achchhe Lal Sahni, Himanshu Singh, Rahul Kumar, Ajmeri , Iqbal, Arman Ali, Vijay Kumar, Sudarshan, Farooq, Nazir, Madho Singh, Chandan & Mohit in case vide FIR No. 37/23, dated 11.01.2023, U/s 3/4, Delhi Public Gambling Act PS Neb Sarai.
Mr.Chandan Chowdhary, IPS . DCP, South East said, Police have recovered stake money cash Rs.40,590/-, 10 pads, calculators, Carbon papers, pens, scale paper chart having chits, flex chart having pictures, written chits and other gaming articles from their possession, on the spot.
To curb the organized crime i.e. gambling/bootlegging in the area of South District, traps were mounted for prevention of such crimes. Accordingly, the staff initiated sincere efforts by sensitizing local informers and collecting human intelligence. They were also directed to keep vigil over the Jail/Bail released as well as parole released criminals and thoroughly scanned about them who were suspected to be involved in any type of criminal activities. Further, teams were deployed for patrolling to check suspicious persons and to collect information relating to such crime. (SUBHEAD)
On 10.01.2023, a credible information was received by team members that two persons were operating a Gambling racket in Sangam Vihar area. Immediately, the information was shared with senior officers and a team comprising of SI Rahul Malan, ASI Dinesh Kumar, ASI Deshraj Meena, ASI Maksud, ASI Ramesh, HC Krishan, HC Pankaj, HC Somvir, HC Sandeep Yadav, HC Joginder, HC Kamal Prakash, HC Indraj, HC Jai Bhagwan, Ct Arvind, Ct Sandeep & Ct Praveen led by Inspr. Umesh yadav, I/C AATS under supervision of Sh. Rajesh Kumar ACP/Ops/SD was formed to bust the racket. Accordingly, the information was further developed and local enquiry of the area was conducted. Based on the specific input a raid was conducted at a property L-Ist Block, Gali No.14, Sangam Vihar New Delhi and 20 persons were apprehended gambling there.
During checking, stake money cash Rs.40590/-, 10 pads, calculators, Carbon papers, pens, scale paper chart having chits, flex chart having pictures, written chits and other gaming articles were recovered from their possession.
Later on, they were identified as Nizam @ Bhutto, Vikas, Ranjit, Ram Prasad, Vikash, Anish, Umesh, Achchhe Lal Sahni, Himanshu Singh, Rahul Kumar, Ajmeri , Iqbal, Arman Ali, Vijay Kumar, Sudarshan, Farooq, Nazir, Madho Singh, Chandan & Mohit. A case vide FIR No. 37/23, dated 11.01.2023, U/s 3/4 Delhi Public Gambling Act,1955, PS Neb Sarai was registered and investigation was taken up.
