THE ACCUSED IS AN ACCOUNTANT WHO WAS EARLIER ENGAGED WITH THE COMPLAINANT, BUT DUE TO HIS POSSESSIVE & ABBUSIVE BEHAVIOUR SHE BROKE OFF ALL TIES WITH HIM, THE ACCUSED THEN BECAME HIGHLY OBSESSIVE AND STARTED STALKING HER ONLINE AND MAKING SEXUALLY COLOURED REMARKS ON POPULAR SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM INSTAGRAM THROUGH FAKE IDs AND ON HIS WHATSAAP STATUS., THE VICTIM EVEN ATTEMPTED TO COMMIT SUICIDE DUE TO HER CONTINUOUS HARASSMENT BY THE ACCUSED., 2 MOBILE PHONES, 03 SIM CARDS AND 01 MICRO SD CARD RECOVERED.

Cyber Police Station, North District has arrested a spurned lover namely Zubair Akhtar R/o Baradari, Chandni Chowk, Delhi, age-26 years, who was earlier engaged with the complainant/victim, but due to her rejection he started harassing and defaming her online, leading her to even committing attempt to suicide once.
On 25.01.2023, a complaint of Ms. XXXXX, r/o Kotwali, Delhi, age-27 years (who is pursuing PG of a fashion designer) was received through Cyber Portal at Cyber Police Station North District, Delhi, in which she alleged that she was being harassed by her ex-fiancé and because of him, she even tried to commit suicide once.
She further stated that she was engaged to him 7-8 years ago and their courtship period lasted for 3 years before parting ways. During this period, he clicked some private pictures of the complainant which are still in his possession and now he is threatening her of making these pictures viral. The accused has even made her fake instagram ID and is posting her pictures on his whatsapp status with cheap and obscene comments.:(SUBHEAD)
A case vide FIR No. XX/23 was registered on the statement of the complainant/victim and details of the instagram account and whatsapp number allegedly used for committing the offence, were sought. On the basis of information provided by the complainant and details of the whatsapp number used, the role of accused was being ascertained. Also, the mobile number used in the alleged whatsapp was found to be registered in the name of accused, which corroborated with the version of complainant.
A team lead by Woman SI Richa Sharma, comprising of HC Pankaj, HC Bijender and HC Umesh, under the close supervision of Inspr. Pawan Tomar, SHO/PS Cyber North and guidance of Shri Dharmender Kumar, ACP/Operations, North District was formed and on the basis of CDR location of the alleged, he was nabbed on 29.01.2023 who was identified as Zubair Akhtar, age-26 years.
INTERROGATION: Mr. Sagar Singh Kalsi, IPS, DCP, North Distt., said, during During interrogation of the accused, 02 mobile phones used in the offence along with 03 SIM Cards and 01 Micro SD card have been seized from his possession and on inspection of his mobile phones, it has been found that both the mobile phones contained private pictures of complainant/victim, along with the screenshots of all her whatsapp and instagram status and post. The accused person was continuously stalking every online activity of the complainant and was highly obsessed with her.
