On 18/01/23, a complaint was received regarding extortion by threatening at PS Chhawla, wherein the complainant stated that in the night of 16/01/2023, at about 10:30 PM, he received a threatening call from an unknown number and the alleged person demanded of Rs. 02 lacs from him and threatened to kill him. As per the statement of the complainant a case vide FIR No. 38/23 dated 18/01/23 U/s 387 IPC was registered at PS Chhawla & investigation was taken up.
Keeping in the view the sensitivity of the matter, team of police officials of Spl Staff, Dwarka district, led by Insp. Naveen Kumar comprising SI Bahadur, ASI Mahesh, HC Kuldeep, and Ct Ravi under the overall supervision of Sh. Ram Avtar, ACP/OPS Dwarka, was constituted to nab the alleged persons and solve the case at the earliest.(SUBHEAD)
M. Harsha Vardhan, IPS, Dy. Commissioner Of Police, Dwarka District, said, accordingly, on the basis of technical surveillance and analysis of CDR of suspected number the accused person was traced. Finally, on 27/01/23, accused was apprehended by the joint team of PS Chhawla and Spl Staff from Nala Road, Qutub Vihar.
During interrogation, he disclosed his identity as Balwan Parasar R/o Jhajjar, Haryana, Age 41 years. On sustained interrogation, it was revealed that accused was in heavy debt. So he made a plan to extort money from complainant as he knew the complainant and his financial condition. He made a threatening call to complainant and demanded Rs. 2 lacs from him.
