CRIME BRANCH SOLVES A SENSATIONAL MURDER, NO PRIOR CASE OR COMPLAINT REGARDING MISSING OR MURDER OF THE DECEASED, ACCUSED KILLED HER BY STRANGULATING WITH A DATA CABLE, SAME DAY HE SOLEMENIZED MARRIAGE WITH ANOTHER GIRL, DEAD BODY CONCEALED AND LOCKED IN REFRIGERATOR. ACCUSED AND DECEASED WERE IN A RELATIONSHIP, DECEASED CAME TO KNOW ABOUT ACCUSED’S MARRIAGE WITH ANOTHER GIRL AND ARGUMENTS LEAD TO MURDER.

The sleuths of (WR-I) unit of Crime Branch, Rajouri Garden have arrested a murder accused namely Sahil Gehlot, 24 years, R/O Padarth Pana, Village Mitraon, Delhi, who killed his friend namely Nikki Yadav on the same day that he married another girl.
The accused strangulated the deceased with the help of a data cable of his mobile in his car in the intervening night of 9/10 Feb., 2023 and stuffed the dead body in a refrigerator kept at his dhaba at Mitraon village, Delhi. The accused and the deceased were in a relationship since past few years.
On 10/02/2023, a secret input was received that a person named Sahil Gehlot R/o Mitraon Village, Delhi has killed his girlfriend and married another girl on the day of murder. Immediately, the above facts was brought into the notice of senior officers and a team led by Insp. Satish Kumar comprising of ASI Krishan, ASI Randhir, ASI Sanjay, HC Ramniwas, Hc Sudama, HC Mahipal, HC Rohitash and HC Vinod under the close supervision of Sh. Raj Kumar, ACP/WR-I was constituted by Sh. Satish Kumar, DCP/Crime and Sh. SD Mishra, Joint CP/Crime.
On checking, no case/compliant about missing of any such girl was found reported. The team reached Mitraon village in search of the accused. The mobile phone of the murderer was found switched off. It came to know that the accused is not present in his house. Intensive search was made in the village and nearby area.(SUBHEAD)
After sincere efforts by the team, the accused namely Sahil Gehlot, 24 years, R/O Padarth Pana, Village Mitraon, was apprehended by the team from Kair village crossing, Delhi.
INTERROGATION AND DISCLOSURE:- Mr.Ravindra Singh Yadav, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police, Crime said on Tuesday evening that during interrogation, initially the accused tried to mislead the police. But on sustained interrogation, he disclosed that he had killed his girlfriend in the intervening night of 9 & 10 Feb., 2023 and kept her dead body in a refrigerator at his dhaba in a vacant plot situated on the outskirts of village Mitraon.
Accused Sahil Gehlot disclosed that he is a native of Mitraon Village, Delhi. After schooling, he started preparation of SSC exams at Career Point Coaching Centre at Uttam Nagar in January, 2018. At that time deceased Nikki Yadav R/o Jhajjar, Haryana was also preparing for medical entrance examination in Akash Institute at Uttam Nagar. Both the accused and the deceased used to travel to their respective institutes daily in the same bus, and they became friends and later on fell in love.
They started meeting before and after the coaching classes. In February, 2018 the accused took admission in D. Pharma in Galgotiya College at Greater Noida and the deceased also took admission in the same college in BA (English Hons.). Thereafter, both of them started living together at Greater Noida in a rented house. They became very close to each other and also travelled to several places such as Manali, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Dehradoon etc.
During Covid lockdown, they returned to their homes and after end of the lockdown, they again started living together in a rented house in Dwarka area. The accused did not inform his family members about this relationship. His family was pressurizing him to get married with some other girl and finally in Dec. 2022, engagement and marriage of the accused with another girl were fixed for 09.02.2023 & 10.02.2023, respectively.
The accused did not inform the deceased about his engagement or marriage plans. But somehow she came to know about this and confronted the accused and arguments started between the two. The accused strangulated the deceased with the help of a data cable of his mobile phone kept in his car. Thereafter, he went to the dhaba owned by him and put her dead body in a refrigerator. The dhaba is situated at a vacant plot on the outskirts of Mitraon Village. The accused then went to his home and solemnised his marriage with another girl.
Dead body of the deceased was recovered from the fridge at the instance of the accused. A murder case vide FIR No. 76/2023 U/s 302/201 IPC has been registered at Baba Haridas Nagar and investigation is being taken up by the Crime Branch. The version disclosed by the accused is being verified during investigation.
