WOMEN ARE BETTER EMPOWERED AS COMPARED TO EARLIER TIMES: DR. SENU DUGGAL

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal said that instructions will be issued soon to enable women to use Abohar Club premises. Speaking at a function organised by Akhil Bhartiya Arora Khatri Punjabi community here, she said that the district administration will make all possible efforts for the empowerment of women. Women are strong and have been empowered as compared to earlier times. We need to do more for this.

Existence of a society without women is not possible. Women and men are equal and society can progress only with the coexistence of both, she said.(SUBHEAD)

Dr. Urmil Sethi former principal DAV College of Education, Dr. Rekha Sood Handa principal Gopichand Arya Mahila College and Fazilka Councilor Pooja Luthra were the distinguished guests of the function.
On the occasion two and a half dozen women were honoured for excellence in their respective field.

Among them were HJS officer Chinar Baghla, Nishtha Hiteshi, Kritika Chalana, Apoorva Mukhija, Gauri Arora, Sejal Watts, Tania Manchanda, Naman Doomra, Pooja Chawla, Anupama Dhuria, Rekha Chawla, Kiran Arora, Anita Chalana, Bindu Arora, Shakuntala Middha, Kamlesh Thakkar, Namita Setia, Poonam Raheja, Chandra Kanta Chugh, Sudesh Chhabra, Renu Bedi, Jasbir Kaur, Ranjit Kaur, Kiran Arora, Manjit Kaur Popali, Anupama Miglani and Sushmana Kataria. The guests were welcomed by Naresh Khurana, president of the Community and others. People showered flower petals to greet Dr. Duggal on her arrival.
