CHANDIGARH POLICE NABS DRUG PEDLER WITH HEROIN

As per directions of W/SSP/UT, Chandigarh, under the close guidance of Sh. Mridul, W/SP/City Chandigarh and under the supervision of Sh. Dalbir Singh, DSP/South a team of officials of Police Station Sector-31, Chandigarh headed by ASI Paramjit Singh along with police party achieved a major achievement by arresting one person namely Ravi S/o Rajbir R/o H. No. 1033, Phase-I, Ramdarbar,
Chandigarh age 23 yrs, who involved in drug peddling.

On 17.06.2023 Police party was on patrolling/Naka duty in the area of Police Station-31, Chandigarh with regard to prevention and control of crime near BSF Headquarter, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh. They saw a person coming from near BSF Headquarter towards Ramdarbar, Chandigarh.(SUBHEAD)

On seeing the police party he swiftly tried to turn back. On the basis of suspicion he was apprehended with the help of police official, he disclosed his name as Ravi and on search 12 gms Heroine was recovered from his possession. Consequently, a case FIR No. 94 dated 17.06.2023 U/S 21 NDPS Act, PS-31, Chandigarh was registered against him.

During interrogation accused disclosed that he is habitual of consuming contraband and to  fulfill his need he use to sell the same at a rate of Rs 4000/- per gram. From the scrutiny of the record the following cases registered against him:-

Previous History : Accused Ravi S/o Rajbir has tainted past and was arrested previously in Case FIR No. 270 dated 02.08.2012 U/s 323, 506, 34 IPC, Police Station Sector-31, Chandigarh and in Case FIR No. 48 dated 17.02.2014 U/s 307, 452, 34 IPC added 147, 148 IPC, Police Station Sector-31, Chandigarh.
Today, i.e. on 18.06.203, accused Ravi S/o Rajbir produced before the Hon’ble District Court and his one day police remand was obtained. The investigation of this case is being under process to know about the source/origin of recovered contraband.
