In major breakthrough Chandigarh the team of Crime Branch under the supervision of Insp. Ashok Kumar got the major success by arresting the accused Sajan Singh who caring 23 boxes of illegal liquor without any permit/license. The accused identified as Sajan Singh S/o Sh. Baldev Singh R/o Vill.SherewalaDistt. Moga.(Pb) Aged 22 years
(MOREPIC1)Police said, on Thursday, a secret information was received that liquor will be smuggled from liquor Shop Sector 18, Chandigarh to other state in a white colour car No. CH01AS-3186. Acting upon this information the team of Crime Branch reached near back side of liquor shop, Sector 18, Chandigarh where signal to stop was given to the driver of white colour car No. CH01AS-3186, but he tried to flee away. He was apprehended with the help of police party.
The driver of the vehicle disclosed his name as Sajan Singh S/o Sh. Baldev Singh R/o Vill. SherewalaDistt. Moga.Aged 22 years. Further on the search of vehicle 23 boxes liquor of different brand (1 box Jager Meister, 1 Box of Marcos Vintage port Wine, 3 Boxes of Chivas 12 blended scotch whisky, 3 boxes of Johnnie Walker Black label blended scotch whisky, 15 boxes of Black and white blended scotch whisky 750 ml each bottle) were found.
He could not produce the permit/license to carry this liquor so he was arrested in case FIR No. 21 Dated 10.5.2023 U/S 61/1/14 Excise Act, PS-19, Chandigarh.He was produced in the hon’ble court and his police remand obtained to ascertain from whom illicit liquor was purchased and where was it to be delivered.
