CBI ARRESTS CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT FOR ACCEPTING BRIBE OF RS.50K , SENT TO JAIL

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) reported to have arrested a Chartered Accountant namely i Vikas Aggarwal,   demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.50,000/- from the Complainant.

A case was registered on complaint. It was alleged that the accused (an empanelled Chartered Accountant of Canara Bank) had informed the Complainant that he was deputed by the Zonal Office of Canara Bank for stock audit.

It was further alleged that said accused demanded bribe of Rs.1.50 Lakh in lieu of giving favourable stock audit report to the Complainant’s firm (dealing in Art work).

(SUBHEAD)The bribe was allegedly negotiated and the accused agreed to accept Rs.50,000/- as bribe & asked the Complainant to deposit the remaining Rs.One Lakh in his account.

CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while accepting the bribe of Rs.50,000/-. Searches were conducted at the premises of accused in Chandigarh.

The arrested accused was produced today in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Chandigarh and was remanded to 14 days Judicial Custody.
