ADDRESSED THE STATE LEVEL MEETING OF EXCISE AND TAXATION DEPARTMENT

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Sh Dushyant Chautala said that there should be no illegal sale of any kind of liquor in the state. Apart from this, he stressed that existing liquor establishments must adhere to regulations and operate in designated areas.
The Deputy Chief Minister was presiding over the state level meeting of the Excise and Taxation Department in Gurugram today.
Addressing the meeting, he said that District Excise Officers should prohibit the display of advertisements for private liquor companies outside liquor shops. The production and sale of distilleries across states must be with the the excise authorities to boost government revenue. DETC should maximize their field visits, and check the liquor quota and its rates available with each contractor, he added.
Addressing the meeting with taxation officers following the Excise Department, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala highlighted a notable 15 percent surge in Haryana's SGST collection compared to the previous year. Encouraging proactive efforts, he urged all taxation officers to strive for Haryana's inclusion among the top five states in SGST recovery nationwide. The Deputy Chief Minister also emphasized the need for regular analysis of companies' tax payments to ensure financial transparency and efficiency.
Sh Dushyant Chautala highlighted the establishment of production units in compliance with NGT regulations, contributing to the rise in SGST collection in the state. Progress reports from excise and taxation officers across all districts were presented during the meeting.
During the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister received a warm welcome from Principal Secretary of the Excise and Taxation Department, Devendra Singh Kalyan, and State Excise and Taxation Commissioner Ashok Kumar Meena.
