In a proactive response to a suspected drone intrusion in the Fazilka sector, 66th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) demonstrated prompt and decisive action. BSF troops committed to securing the country's borders responded with precision and neutralized the nefarious designs of Anti National Elements (ANEs) who were trying to compromise our security.

During an intensive search operation in the Mohar Sona area, 66th Bn BSF, along with the local police party, discovered and seized packets of heroin weighing approximately 6.25 kg, dropped by drone in an agricultural field. This successful operation underlines the unwavering dedication and coordination of 66th Bn BSF and Police in combating drug smuggling even in challenging weather conditions.

The tireless efforts of 66th Bn BSF exemplify their commitment towards securing the border and preventing illegal activities. The recovery of heroin highlights the vigilance and capability of 66th Bn in thwarting attempts to compromise the security of the nation.

While acknowledging their tireless efforts in ensuring the security of our borders, the central security force commended the 66th Bn for their exemplary service and dedication and the commitment and gallantry displayed by the personnel of Team 66 in maintaining the integrity of the security of our country.

During the night between the 9th and 10th of January 2024, vigilant BSF troops intercepted a drone intrusion near Village Majar Jamsher Pattan Dhani, Fazilka District.

Following the established protocols, BSF troops promptly engaged the drone with fire.

An initial search led to the discovery of a black-coloured large packet, containing 03 small packets along with 03 luminous sticks, suspected to contain heroin (gross weight – approximately 03 kgs), from a farming field near Village Majar Jamsher Pattan Dhani at around 04:15 am.

urther, a joint search operation by BSF and Punjab Police yielded another bag, containing 03 packets of suspected Heroin ( gross weight – approximately 03 kgs), recovered near the previous discovery site around 09:00 am.

The total recovery includes 06 packets ( gross weight approximately – 06 kgs) and 06 luminous sticks.

Once again, joint efforts by BSF and Punjab Police successfully thwarted an attempt by smugglers to  transport narcotics via drone.
