RANJIT SAGAR DAM'S WATER OUTFLOW REMAIN CLOSED FOR 31 DAYS FOR PLUGGING OF UNDER SLUICES AND IMPOUNDING OF SHAHPURKANDI DAM

Punjab Water Resources Department has decided to close the water outflow from Ranjit Sagar Dam for 31 days for urgent work and water filling in reservoir of Shahpurkandi Dam.

Disclosing this here, the official spokesperson said that keeping in view the weather condition and status of crops, it is notified that water outflow from Ranjit Sagar Dam will remain closed for 31 days from January 15, 2024 to February 14, 2024 (both days inclusive) to complete the urgent work including plugging of under sluices and impounding of Shahpurkandi Dam.

The notification in this regard has been issued under the Rule-63 of Rules framed under the Northern India Canal and Drainage Act, 1873 (Act No. VIII of 1873).
