On the occasion of National Drug-Free-Pledge Day, Commandant Arun Kumar Verma of 66th Battalion BSF motivated the villagers present in large numbers at Muhar Sona BOP along the India-Pakistan border, to take an oath to stay away from drugs. At Gorkha Gatti Complex also, the border villagers took oath against drugs and chanted 'Bharat Mata ki Jai', 'Jai Jawan', 'Jai Kisan'.
Commandant Verma said that to strengthen the country and keep the society strong, it is very important for the young generation to stay away from drugs. He asked the villagers to keep an eye on the suspicious activities of anti-social elements coming from across the border and contact the nearest BSF if something wrong is noticed. The mutual coordination and brotherhood of the border villagers will remain as strong as before. Since some people are ruining the young generation by selling drugs for personal gain, be careful of them, he said.
People present in the border villages Maujam, Maharkhewa, Mahar Sona Mansa, Muhar Jamsher, Gulaba Bhaini, Retewali Bhaini, Sadha-Singh ki Dhani, Jangid Bhaini, Purani Gatti, Mahatam Nagar, Teja Ruhela, Dona Nanak, and other villages participated in the oath taking ceremony. All of them assured full cooperation to BSF in the anti-drug fight.
