In a significant achievement the police solved the robbery case in just 24 hours and arrested all five culprits.
While interacting with the media here, SSP Dr. Pragya Jain said that the main culprit of the incident was an old employee of the victim's family.
On Saturday, two persons forced entry into a house in Street-10, injured and robbed Vijay Rani Nagpal. An FIR was registered on her statement.
(SUBHEAD)Mrs Nagpal, a senior citizen bravely recounted the unknown individuals posing as an AC service personnel barged into the house, attacked and looted her jewelry, phone and some cash.
Police formed different teams to trace the culprits. The SSP said that more than hundred CCTV cameras were thoroughly examined and all the five accused were arrested following technical inputs. The accused are Vikram Singh, Deepu, Vikram alias Vijay, Sajan and Raj Kumar. The main culprit Vijay was an old employee of the victim's family while two accused had previous criminal records.
The SSP said that police worked hard to solve this case in such a short time. The family members thanked the police for quick action and arresting all the miscreants within two days.
MLA Sandeep Jakhar said that the broad daylight crime had created a sense of insecurity among locals but the district police have done commendable work to identify and arrest the accused persons.
