FAZILKA POLICE AND BSF RECOVER 2.580 KG OF HEROIN AND PAKISTANI DRONE

In the intervening night of 5/6 May, a BSF jawan posted on duty at BOP Tahliwala pass of 52nd Battalion BSF, Fazilka, heard the sound of a drone coming from the Pakistan side towards India. The drone that was at a very low height fell down due to a technical fault.

Maheshwar Prasad Company Commander immediately reached the spot and a search operation was launched after informing the local police. During the search operation, a drone (quad copter DJI Metris 300 RTK) was recovered, which was in a damaged condition.

(SUBHEAD)A packet wrapped with yellow tape has been recovered about 40 meters from the place where the drone fell. The total weight of the packet was found to be 2.7 kg. There were lighting strips attached to the packet. On opening the packet, three packets of 1.050 kg, 1.040 kg and 0.490 kg of heroin were found inside. The total weight of all the three packets was 2.580 kg. The local police and BSF are conducting a thorough search of the area around the spot where the drone was found.

An official spokesman said that the BSF and Fazilka Police, under the guidance of SSP Dr Pragya Jain, are determined to stop illegal activities from Pakistan.
