SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal said that the state govt had stopped releasing funds for the development schemes which were sanctioned by the previous govt for Abohar. The prosperity of this area depends on canal water but the present government has failed to provide water to the tail-end villages.
At a rally here, he said that due to the wrong policies of the present government, the drug trade has affected every household and the drug mafia have the open protection of ruling dispensing. Law and order have reached its worst ends. Purses and mobile phones are snatched from women in broad daylight. As soon as the evening falls, armed anti-social elements attack and rob people, but due to the political protection such elements get a free hand. SAD chief congratulated youth leader Harbinder Singh Harry for organising an impressive rally.
As the electricity supply got disrupted and power generating set developing a snag, the sound system also went off when mercury was soaring at 43 degrees centigrade during the public meeting. Sukhbir came out after meeting Dr Ram Kumar Goyal, former BJP MLA but had to wait for his speech. A drone camera with a small fan was directed to the stage to give marginal relief to the SAD chief. He thanked the audience for bearing the brunt.
