To motivate voters, especially those eligible to cast their vote for first time on June 1, the Fazilka Administration, as part of a series of endeavours, would be organising free special pubic screening of the hit movie “12th Fail” for those first time voters who cast their vote on June 1.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal said that the right to Vote is the bulwark of our Constitutional fabric and district administration is duty bound to ensure maximum people come out to exercise their right so the roots of our Democracy are strengthened further.

The movie would be screened on June 2, after the polling day, at Abohar and Jalalabad. Those voting for the first time on June 1 would be given coupons for free movie viewing the next day.

As part of this endeavour to ensure the highest voting percentage, the Administration would be screening the movie, which is based on the real-life story of Indian Police Services (IPS) Officer Manoj Kumar Sharma, who defies humongous odds to eventually succeed and be an inspiration to others around him, Dr. Duggal said.

The Election Commission has been stridently pursuing the target of above 70% voting in ongoing Lok Sabha Polls and the campaign “Iss baar – 70 paar” has visible resonance amongst all sections of voters.

Punjab has close to 2.14 Crore eligible voters of which 5.38 Lakhs are in the 18–19-year bracket, Dr. Duggal said underlining that Fazilka has always been amongst the highest voting districts and we are determined to push the percentage further by motivating everyone to vote and exercise their cherished right.
