FAZILKA SSP LEADS SPECIAL SEARCH OPERATION

A Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was carried out from 11:00 am to 02:00 pm in four sub divisions of district Fazilka by the respective officers under the leadership of Dr. Pragya Jain SSP and under the supervision of all district officers. During this the drug hotspot area and other sensitive areas were checked across the district. 

The SSP said that CASO has been conducted in all four sub-divisions of district Fazilka to crack down on drug smugglers and bad elements. She said that drug peddlers and bad elements will not be spared under any circumstances and strict action will be taken against them and similar search operations will be conducted in the future. 

During the operation, 266 suspected persons and 118 suspected vehicles were checked by forming 25 parties of about 200 policemen in four subdivisions of Fazilka and 44 drug hotspot areas were checked. Eight cases were registered and 10 accused were arrested and 49gm of heroin, 32,300 drug stashes, 10,200 Liters of lahan and 5 motorcycles were recovered from them and seized. Similarly, action has been taken against 4 persons under Section 110 of the CrPC.
