Delhi Police reported to have arrested wanted Sumit @ Jhumka, a sharp shooter of Tilloo Tajpuria gang (a parole jumper in the Murder case of PS Kanjhawla and also wanted in Murder case of PS Alipur), after a brief shoot-out with the team of Spl Staff Rohini District.
He is a sharpshooter of notorious gangster namely Tillu Tajpuriya and Sandeep Dheela gang. He is the main person who arranges the weapons for Tillu Tajpuriya Gang members for committing crime and has previously been involved in the cases of Murder and Attempt to murder. Presently, Sumit @ Jhumka is a parole jumper in a Kanjhawala murder case. One pistol along with three live cartridges, one stolen motorcycle and Rs. 8000/- cash were recovered from his possession.
On 19.06.2024, there was input with Spl. Staff, Rohini District about the movement of desperate criminal and an active member of Tillu Tajpuriya and Sandeep Dheela gang namely Sumit @ Jhumka in and around the areas of PS Begumpur and nearby areas, who was actively involved in criminal activities like murder, attempt to murder, threatening etc.

The information was further developed through technical and manual surveillance and after constant efforts; specific information was received by Spl. Staff, Rohini that Sumit @ Jhumka would come to criminal assault with fire arms upon some property dealer in sector 24, Rohini in order to extort huge money in lieu of protection. Consequently, a team of Spl. Staff, Rohini comprising of SI Pritam, ASI Narender, ASI Om Parkash, ASI Sumit, HC Ajay, HC Pardeep, HC Surender, HC Navdeep, Ct Jagdish and Ct Parveen led by Insp. Amit Dahiya, Spl. Staff/Rd under the supervision of Sh. Ishwar Singh, ACP/Ops. and under overall supervision of DCP/Rohini was constituted. The team laid a trap on Pansali road, Sector 32, Rohini. Sumit @ Jhumka was spotted coming on a motorcycle.
When Sumit @ Jhumka was signaled to stop and surrender, he resorted to firing upon the police team in an attempt to escape. In self-defence, the police also opened fired upon Sumit @ Jhumka, resulting bullet injuries in his leg.
After brief exchange of fire, alleged Sumit @ Jhumka was apprehended on the spot. He was promptly taken to the BSA Hospital, Delhi for medical treatment. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 390/24 U/S 186/353/307 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act PS Begampur, District Rohini, Delhi was registered and alleged Sumit @ Jhumka was arrested in the case.
Dr. Guriqbal Singh Sidhu, IPS, DCP , Rohini Distt., said, on sustained questioning, he disclosed that he works for Tillu Tajpuriya and Sandeep Dheela gang and commits crime on the directions from his handler and arranges the weapons for gang members for committing crime. It also revealed that Sumit @ Jhumka had committed the murder of one Narender (active member of Gogi Gang) in Alipur area reported vide case FIR No. 319/24 Dt. 22.04.2024 U/S 302/307/34 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act PS Alipur during the parole jump of the murder case registered in 2021 at PS Kanjhawla. Further investigation is in progress.
PROFILE OF THE ARRESTED PERSON
Sumit @ Jhumka @ Pankaj is resident of Village Bakheta, District Rohtak, Haryana and 29 years old. He was previously involved in the cases of murder and attempt to murder of PS Kanjhawala and Alipur respectively. He is an active sharpshooter of Tillu Tajpuriya gang and arranges the weapons for Tillu Tajpuriya gang members. Presently, he is a parole jumper in a Kanjhawala murder case.
