The Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI), SAS Nagar, on Thursday, honoured its alumni with the Achiever awards. The Achiever’s Award Meet was presided over by Major General BS Grewal, VSM (Retd.), the Founder Director and Member of the Governing Body of the Institute.

As many as 43 ex-MRSAFPIans, including 10, who had been commissioned into the Indian Armed Forces in May-June 2024, were felicitated with the Achiever Award. The other Achievers were those who had passed out from the National Defence Academy (NDA) and those presently undergoing training at NDA/other training academies. There were three Achievers also from the 1st Course of AFPI who had taken leave from their place of duty and who had come down for the ceremony.

Major General BS Grewal complimented the successful cadets and expressed the hope that the training at the MRSAFPI will continue to give cadets a good launch pad for achieving excellence during their training at the service academies. He said joining the Army was not like any other career, it was much more than that and demanded passion.

While asking the cadets to prepare themselves to become extraordinary, he also urged them to discover their hidden talent, overcome their shortcomings and set higher standards of personal integrity. He praised the laudable efforts being put in by the present MRSAFPI faculty for achieving exemplary results.

Major General Ajay H. Chauhan, VSM (Retd.), the MRSAFPI Director said that the Maharaja Ranjit Singh AFPI had so far sent 229 cadets to NDA/other academies. He said that 22 cadets who had cleared their SSB have commenced receiving joining letters for NDA. He stated that the Institute has emerged as a major primary feeder Institute for the Armed Forces and has the best results in the country.
