25th KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS: INDIAN ARMY D5 MOTORCYCLE EXPEDITION FLAGGED OFF AT AMBALA TO 'KARGIL WAR MEMORIAL', DRASS

A Team of 16 riders, a part of D5 Motorcycle expedition traversing along the Ambala, Amritsar, Jammu, Srinagar onto Kargil War Memorial, Drass was flagged off from Ambala Cantonment by Lieutenant General Rahul R Singh, General Officer Commanding, Kharga Corps today morning.

The expedition team which was flagged in at Ambala Cantonment a day prior on 28 June, 2024 by Major General Anoop Shinghal, General Officer Commanding, Deep Strikers Division will now ride to Amritsar (Punjab).

Indian Army's D5 (Dinjan, Dhanushkodi, Dwarka, Delhi and Dras) Motorcycle Expedition to commemorate 25th Anniversary of 'Kargil Vijay Diwas – Indian Army's victory over Pakistan' in the 1999 'Kargil War' was earlier Flagged-off on 12 June 2024 from three corners of the country from Dwarka (West), Dhanushkodi (South) & Dinjan (East).

(SUBHEAD)The three teams consisting of total 32 riders in a display of indomitable spirit of Kargil War Heroes in their hearts, after traversing through the vast expanse of the country congregated at Delhi and were flagged off by General Manoj Pande, ADC, Chief of Army Staff from at National War Memorial, Delhi on 27 June, 2024.

The riders beyond Delhi are traversing in two teams with 16 riders each are through two different routes, one along Zojila, Sarchu, Nyoma axis and other through Ambala, Amritsar, Jammu, Srinagar route will reach Kargil War Memorial at Drass on 08 July 2024.

At each halt the riders in commemorative events will interact with Veer Naris, veterans, awardees & local community to spread the spirit inclusiveness & patriotism.
