In a significant achievement, self-help groups (SHGs) in Fazilka district have successfully stitched 10,000 school uniforms under the Pahal Program as a part of Aajeevika Mission. This initiative, launched by the Punjab Government, aims to empower women by providing them with employment opportunities.

Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Senu Duggal, said that the project has yielded encouraging results. The Education Department had ordered 10,000 school uniforms from the SHGs, which were stitched by around 60 women from Block Jalalabad. These women were trained by the Rural Self-Employment Training Institute (RSETI) Zira, and their efforts have resulted in the successful completion of this project. The uniforms are now ready to be distributed to schools in Jalalabad.

Project Director, Navneet Kaur, said that the initiative has not only provided employment to women but has also enabled them to contribute to their family's income while staying in their villages.

The Ajeevika Mission has been consistently working towards empowering women by providing them with various opportunities. This achievement is a testament to the mission's success and its impact on the lives of women in rural areas.
