In a major infrastructure development, a new bridge is being constructed at Teja Ruhela on the Sutlej River, which will connect 15 border villages to Fazilka city. The bridge, at a cost of Rs 8.45 crore, will provide a major relief to the residents of these villages who had to earlier cross the river using makeshift boats.

The construction work was inspected by MLA Narinder Pal Singh Sawna and Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rakesh Kumar Popli. The officials were directed to complete the construction work expeditiously and ensure that the bridge is built with high-quality materials. He also instructed them to get the material used in the construction tested from a laboratory to ensure its quality.

The bridge, 140.30 meters long and 3.5 meters wide, will be a major boon for the residents of the border villages who will now have easy access to Fazilka city.

The construction of the bridge is a part of the Punjab Government's efforts to provide better infrastructure facilities to the people of the border areas. The bridge is expected to be completed soon.
