Punjab Government has declared a local holiday including under Negotiable Instruments Act-1881on July 10th, 2024 for the Government Offices/Boards/Corporations/Educational Institutions situated in 34-Jalandhar West (SC) Assembly Constituency in view of the Bye Election to the 34 – Jalandhar West (SC) Assembly Constituency on July 10th, 2024 (Wednesday).
In case any Government Officer/Employee is a voter in the voter list of 34 – Jalandhar West (SC) Assembly Constituency and is working in the Government Offices/Boards/Corporations/Government Educational Institutions of the Punjab State then he/she would be eligible for availing special holiday on July 10th, 2024 from the competent authority by presenting their voter identity card. This holiday won't be deducted from the leave account of the officer/employee.
Besides, as per the provision of the Section 135B(1) of the Representation of People Act, 1951, July 10th 2024 (Wednesday) is hereby declared a paid holiday in respect of all persons employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking or any other establishment for casting vote in Jalandhar West (SC) Assembly Constituency.
