MLA Sandeep Jakhar, after hoisting the tri-color on the 78th Independence Day at Municipal Corporation here, once again appealed to citizens to completely shun use of single-use plastic wares that block sewerage chambers, drains and other facilities.

Mayor Vimal Thatai asked people to dispose of wet and dry waste separately in the hand pulled rehris and tippers that move across the town to keep the town neat and clean. He also sought cooperation in collecting taxes timely to run the corporation smoothly.

Many councilors and senior BJP leaders including Ram Kishan Mittal and organizational heads were present on the occasion. Students, who presented a colorful programme, were given prizes.
