The KBC (Kushal Business Challenge) State Summit 2024-25 witnessed an impressive display of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit as Team Rohtak emerged as the winner with their ground breaking security solution, Secure Wave. The competition, which saw participation from 22 teams across Haryana, aimed to foster entrepreneurial thinking among students, with five teams making it to the top and receiving funding to scale their ideas.

KBC initiative, was supported by Udhyam Learning Foundation, which has played a crucial role in instilling an entrepreneurial mindset among students from Haryana’s government schools. Through structured mentorship, hands-on training, and curriculum support, Udhyam has helped students transform their ideas into viable business models.

The journey of KBC began in October 2024, impacting over 37,000 students through a 12-session curriculum designed to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset. This led to a three-stage competition:
School Round – 25,011 students from 1,062 schools formed 5,640 teams, developing business ideas, with one team per school advancing.

(SUBHEAD)District Phase 1 – Top five teams per district (110 in total) were selected and awarded ₹3,000 in seed funding to create prototypes.

District Phase 2 – Teams refined their ideas through expert mentorship, with one top team per district advancing to the State Summit.

The grand event was graced by Shri Pankaj Agarwal, IAS, Principal Secretary, School Education, Govt. of Haryana, as the Chief Guest, along with Dr. Yashpal Yadav, IAS, Deputy Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Govt. of Haryana, who attended as the Guest of Honor. Their presence and words of encouragement underscored the state’s commitment to nurturing young entrepreneurs and fostering innovation in education.

The top five teams—Rohtak, Panchkula, Sirsa, Gurugram, and Jhajjar—were awarded ₹10,000 each, while the remaining teams received ₹5,000 in recognition of their hard work and innovative ideas. The competition provided a platform for students to showcase their business acumen, problem-solving skills, and creativity before a panel of distinguished jury members, including entrepreneurs and industry experts.

Rohtak’s Secure Wave stood out with its affordable, AI-powered laser security system, designed to provide high-precision, real-time protection for homes, businesses, and high-security areas. Unlike conventional security systems, it offers cost-effective installation, smart detection technology, and instant alerts, making it a game-changer in the security industry.

Speaking about their innovation, Kushal, the Product Development Lead of Team Rohtak, said, “People need security solutions they can trust. Secure Wave is designed to provide advanced protection at an affordable cost, making safety accessible for all.”
