MINING MENACE: 27 VEHICLES CHALLANED, RS 2.88 LAKH FINE IMPOSED FOR ILLEGAL MINING IN YAMUNANAGAR

As per the instructions of Director General of Mining and Geology Department Sh. K.M. Pandurang, concrete steps are being taken against illegal mining. The Mining Department and district administration are continuously taking action against illegal mining and transportation.

Giving information in this regard, a spokesperson of the Mining and Geology Department said during the checking of 1487 vehicles by the district administration and Mining Department in Yamunanagar district, 27 vehicles were challaned and a fine of Rs 2.88 lakh was imposed.

He said during the checking of 685 vehicles by the teams of SDM Chhachhrauli, the RTA Department challaned 7 vehicles and imposed a fine of Rs 58,500. Similarly, while checking 189 vehicles by the teams of SDM Jagadhari, 8 vehicles were fined Rs. 1.84 lakh, while checking of 459 vehicles by the teams of SDM Radaur, 6 vehicles were fined Rs. 16,500. Further, on the checking of 154 vehicles by the team of SDM Vyaspur, 6 vehicles were fined Rs. 29,000 by challaning them. He said all the SDMs, Police Department and Mining Department officials of the district are carrying out checks round the clock.
