CBI APPREHENDS ACCUSED IDSE, EE, GARRISON ENGINEER, GE, RANCHI FOR DEMANDING AND ACCEPTING BRIBE OF RS. 40,500

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended accused IDSE, EE, Garrison Engineer, GE, Ranchi for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.40,500/- from the complainant. 

A case was registered by CBI on 19.03.2025 against said IDSE, EE, Garrison Engineer, GE, Ranchi on allegations that accused demanded a bribe of Rs. 54,000/- i.e. 2% of pending bills from the complainant.

It was also alleged that the complainant's firm carried out civil work and submitted bills of Rs. 27,00,000/- (approx). The accused public servant allegedly kept the bills pending for extracting bribe amount of Rs. 54,000/- i.e. or approx. 2% of the bill amount. After negotiation, accused agreed to accept bribe of Rs. 40,500/- i.e. @ 1.5% of pending bills. 

CBI laid a trap and caught accused red-handed for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 40,500/- from the complainant. 

Searches are being conducted by CBI at the residential and official premises of the accused.
