The Surya Dev Bhoomi Challenge 2025, a groundbreaking endurance event, commenced in the breathtaking Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. Organized by the Indian Army's Surya Command in collaboration with Uttarakhand Tourism and Radio Mirchi, this unique event blends adventure, heritage, and sustainable development.

(SUBHEAD)Lieutenant General D G Misra, General Officer Commanding, Headquarters Uttar Bharat Area, commending the collaborative efforts, said, “This initiative exemplifies the Indian Army's commitment to nation-building and sustainable opportunity in the Himalayas.” The Surya Dev Bhoomi Challenge 2025 is a movement dedicated to reconnecting India with its ancient pathways, resilient communities, and boundless spirit for adventure.

The challenge spans three days, from April 18 to April 20, 2025 and features a cycling expedition and trail running across some of Uttarakhand's most spectacular and culturally significant landscapes. The event aims to revive the historic Old Char Dham Route, promote adventure and winter tourism, support the Vibrant Village Scheme, and foster civil-military partnerships for sustainable growthz
