INAUGURATES 6TH EDITION OF ‘EAT RIGHT FOOD SUMMIT’.

The 6th edition of the ‘Eat Right Food Summit’ was inaugurated today in Chandigarh by the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, who attended as the Chief Guest. The summit was organized by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) in collaboration with the Food Safety Administration and the Department of Health, Chandigarh Administration.

In his address, Sh.Kataria stated, that “The Eat Right India movement is a commendable national effort to inspire behavioural change towards healthier food choices. It brings together science, policy, and public engagement in a unique way—raising awareness while driving actionable outcomes. It is heartening to see Chandigarh once again taking a leadership role in advancing health and wellness.”

(SUBHEAD)The Administrator underlined the critical role of healthy food in nation-building, noting that a strong and progressive India begins not in hospitals, but with what each citizen consumes daily.

Sh.Kataria also spoke about the importance of reviving the consumption of traditional grains like millets, describing them as a sustainable and highly nutritious option that benefits both personal health and the environment.

He encouraged food manufacturers to move toward producing more natural and nutritious alternatives and urged citizens to make conscious choices by reading food labels and understanding their dietary intake.

Sh. Ajay Chagti, Secretary Health and Dr. Suman Singh, Director, Health and Family Welfare, UT Chandigarh.was also present during the event.
