NCC ORGANISES VIBRANT VILLAGE PROGRAMME AT VILLAGE CHUHRIWALA CHISHTI

25 Punjab Battalion NCC, Abohar under the supervision of Colonel Rajeev Sirohi, Commanding Officer and Lt Col Gaurav Nyol, AO, conducted Vibrant Village Programme at the Border Village Chuhriwala Chishti, 13 Km from Fazilka. Besides officers, other ranks, 120 Cadets, Surinderpal Singh, Principal GHS Chuhriwala Chishti, local students and villagers including Jarnail Singh, Sarpanch of village, Gurdev Singh, Ex-servicemen participated with zeal and enthusiasm.

Various activities were conducted by the NCC cadets along with the local youth and villagers. The local population was educated on the govt scheme of Vibrant Village Programme phase II. Awareness drive on 'Nasha Mukt Bharat' was also carried out by cadets in the village to educate the local population about the ill-effects of drug abuse. A poster making competition was also organised. The students were to join NCC. A friendly Volleyball Match between Cadets and Village team was also organised.

ANOs and CTOs F/O Lal Chand, Lt Amandeep, Lt Poonam Jakhar, CT Jaskaran Singh, CT Vasudev Sharma, CT Budh Ram, Sub Sundeep Singh, Sub Varinder Kumar, Sub Rajbir, Sub Basant Singh, CHM Satpal Singh, Hav Shashipal, Hav Satveer Singh, Mandeep Singh, Rajeev Godara contributed in the success of the event.

Col Rajeev Sirohi said that the NCC would be taking such initiatives and conducting such programmes every month in the selected border villages in coordination with the local village population for inspiring them towards national integration, national pride and sense of belongingness.
