A delegation from the Joint Action Committee of the Punjab Pradesh Palledar Labour Union met with Governor Gulab Chand Kataria and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to present the workers’ grievances. After listening to the delegation, the Chief Minister reportedly assured them of a speedy resolution to their demands and issues.

Union office-bearers expressed special gratitude to social worker and industrialist Karan Gilhotra for facilitating the meetings. Union representative Bakhtawar Singh said that they had recently contacted Gilhotra regarding the need for the meeting. Taking the workers’ issues seriously, Gilhotra took immediate initiative and paved the way for the meeting with the Governor and the Chief Minister.
