UT girls defeated Saurashtra by 28 runs in their third encounter at the ongoing Senior Women's T20 tournament being played in Vadodara. This was Chandigarh's first win in the tournament.

Earlier, Saurashtra won the toss and invited Chandigarh to bat first. By 44/2 in the tenth over, Shivi Pandey (6) and Monika Pandey (2) lost their wickets cheaply. But holding the fort at other end, Parushi Prabhakar contributed 44 runs. With the dismissal of Parushi in the 14th over Chandigarh was reduced to 67/3. Later unbeaten Aradhana Bisht (31) and skipper Kashvee Gautam (32), Chandigarh amassed 122/3 in the stipulated twenty overs.

In reply, opposition scumbled against the pace attack from Kashvee to demolish the top order with 8/3 on the board. Saurashtra failed to recover from early blows. Beside top scorer Jayu Jadeja (30), the middle and down order could not favour the team as Saurashtra was restricted to 94/8. Kashvi (3/18) took three wickets while Kumari Shibi (2/12) clinched two wickets.

Chandigarh's next match is against UP on Monday.
