Lieutenant General Vipul Shinghal, Sena Medal, General Officer Commanding, Sudarshan Chakra Corps on Tuesday flagged off the Trishakti Multidimensional Expedition from Air Force Station Jaisalmer. The expedition is unique as it includes multiple modes and participation from all three services in the true spirit of joint Manship.
The expedition team is a true representation of jointness in the Armed Forces with 40 members from the Army, Navy and Air Force, including women officers and Agniveers. The expedition will traverse more than 1700 km across the rugged terrain of the Thar Desert, from Jaisalmer to the fringes of Rann of Kutch and will travel all along the Rajasthan border and would pass through the historic towns of Barmer, Munabao, Longewala, Tanot, Ramgarh, Kishangarh and Bharewala. The participants would be undertaking cycling, motorcycling 4×4 Jeep Rally, Camel safari, microlight flying and rafting in the Indira Gandhi Canal along the way.
The Trishakti Expedition is not only about adventure but will also highlight the military's commitment to Nation Building. The expedition members will promote environmental awareness by undertaking tree plantations along with the local communities at multiple locations, promote use of green energy, highlight the need for women empowerment, undertake various youth engagement activities and pay homage to war heroes.
