INTERSTATE REWARDED CRIMINAL SHAMEEM PILLA ARRESTED.

REWARD OF RS. 25000/- WAS DECLARED ON HIS ARREST BY HARYANA POLICE, CLOSE AIDE OF NOTORIOUS AUTO LIFTER MANOJ BAKKARWALA AND A KEY MEMBER OF SEVERAL INTER-STATE VEHICLE THEFT SYNDICATES.

A team of South Western Range, Special Cell has arrested a wanted criminal named Shameem @ Pilla r/o Samar Garden, Meerut, UP. The accused was wanted by Haryana STF and a reward of Rs. 25,000/- was declared on his arrest by Haryana Police in case FIR No. 150/2022 u/s 379/411/420/467/468/471/120B/34 IPC PS Sadar Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar, Haryana. He is one of the key members of various inter-state vehicle theft syndicates. 

(SUBHEAD)The team of Inspr. Manender Singh, Inspr. Somil Sharma, Inspr. Sunil and Inspr. Neeraj has been working on inter-state wanted criminals. In April-2023, the team arrested a rewarded criminal namely Kamal r/o Libaspur, Delhi, who was carrying a reward of Rs. 25,000/- on his arrest in the similar case. On his interrogation, it was revealed that he along with his associates had prepared more than 800 fake driving licenses and forged registration certificates of vehicles.

The sustained and tactical interrogation of accused Kamal led to the valuable inputs regarding other absconding and rewarded criminal of the gang namely Shameem @ Pilla, who is one of the key members of the syndicate. Inputs were further developed through manual and technical surveillance and it was revealed that Shameem was having expertise in changing the engine and chassis numbers of the vehicles and was still working with several other vehicle theft syndicates including the gangs of Manoj Bakkarwala and Nawab. Further, the stolen vehicles with altered chassis & engine numbers and fake registration certificates are sold to criminals of different states.

(SUBHEAD)The incessant efforts of the team paid off when on 12/05/2023, specific information regarding his movement in Transport Nagar, Samaipur Badli was received. Accordingly, a team led by Inspr. Manender Singh consisting of Inspr. Neeraj, SI Parhalad, SI Surender Pal, ASI Rajesh Rana, ASI Pardeep, HC Deepak Rana, HC Manish, HC Sumit Lamba, HC Ravi Panwar, HC Amit, HC Kapil, HC Rakesh and HC Deepak was constituted under the supervision of ACsP Sh. Sanjay Dutt and Sunil Kumar. Thereafter, a raid was conducted at Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, Samaipur Badli, Delhi and the accused Shameem (age–40 yrs) r/o Samar Garden, Meerut, UP, was apprehended. He was found in possession of one loaded single shot pistol. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 128/2023 dated 12/05/2023 u/s 25 Arms Act was registered at PS Special Cell and investigation was taken up.

INTERROGATION: Mr. Ingit Pratap Singh, IPS, DCP, Special Cell, said, the accused was subjected to thorough interrogation and it was revealed that he was a close aide of notorious auto lifter Manoj Bakkarwala. Vehicle theft syndicates of Manoj Bakkarwala and Nawab Meerut etc. would hand him over the stolen vehicles to alter their original chassis & engine numbers with the fake numbers. He was involved in this nefarious activity since last ten years.

He has disclosed that he has altered the chassis & engine numbers of around 3000-4000 stolen vehicles. Such stolen vehicles with fake registration certificates were sold to criminals in Delhi/NCR. These syndicates would sell the stolen vehicles to their associates in other states also. In July 2022, Haryana Police had busted this racket and arrested 6 members of this syndicate including Manoj Bakkarwala. However, Shameem @ Pilla managed to escape and was absconding since then.

A reward of Rs. 25000/- was also declared on his arrest by Haryana Police. It has also come to notice that this racket has close association with Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar Syndicate. One Chirag @ Kalu, who was also arrested by Haryana Police in their case, is the real brother of noted criminal Tinu Bhiwani, an accused in Sidhu Moosewala murder case.

RECOVERY:  1 single shot pistol and 1 live cartridge., 27 iron sticks and other equipment used by him in changing the engine/chassis numbers of the vehicles.

KNOW THE ACCUSED: Accused Shameem was born in 1983 at Meerut, UP and has studied up to 5th standards only. His father is a mason by profession. He is married and has two children. After dropping out of school, he worked at a vehicle repair workshop at Modipuram, Meerut under one Jabbar. Jabbar had expertise in changing the chassis & engine numbers of the stolen vehicles and he also learnt this technique from him. Thereafter, he himself started this activity and began changing the engine and chassis numbers of the stolen vehicles. He has been associated with several auto lifting syndicates including the gangs of Nawab Meerut, Manoj Bakkarwala and Mehtab etc.
