INTERSTATE DRUG SYNDICATE BUSTED, MOHALI RESIDENT AMONG TWO ARRESTED WITH MALANA CREAM

670 GRAM OF FINE QUALITY CHARAS (MALANA CREAM) RECOVERED, ARRESTED ACCUSED PERSONS ARE DRIVER AND HELPER OF THE VOLVO BUS RUNNING BETWEEN DELHI TO KASOL.

The team of NR-I/Crime Branch has successfully busted an inter-state drug trafficking chain operating within the Delhi-NCR region, originating from Himachal Pradesh. The team has arrested two accused named Sahil Rai, 37 years, R/o Mundi Kharar, District Sahibzada, Mohali, Punjab, and Govind Saw, 41 years, R/o Village Pirho, District Arwal, Bihar. The accused Govind Saw was found in possession of 670 grams of high-quality Charas. 

ASI Ramesh of NR-1/Crime Branch received an input through field sources and technical analysis regarding distribution of Charas (Malana cream). The information was further developed and it was revealed that many drivers and helpers of Volvo buses who are operating between Kasol, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi are involved in the illicit supply of Charas.

Consequently, Call Detail Records (CDR) of various suspected phone numbers were obtained and scrutinized. After analysing the CDRs and other related data of the suspected phone numbers, the mobile numbers used by drivers & suppliers were segregated. The information was further verified from the informer.

Based on the technical input and physical information, it was specifically zeroed in that the contraband of Charas is to be delivered nearby area of Divine Hospital, Jagat Pur, Delhi.

A team of NR-I led by Insp Alok Kumar Rajan comprising of SI Narender Singh, ASI Yogesh, ASI Virender, ASI Sandeep, ASI Ramesh, HC Ashok, HC Kuldeep, and HC Sanjeev under the close supervision of ACP Vivek Tyagi was constituted by DCP Vichitra Veer and Joint CP S.D. Mishra to intercept the driver of the bus.

(SUBHEAD)The team laid a trap near Divine Hospital, Jagat Pur Village, Wazirabad, Delhi where at the instance of informer, Govind Saw was apprehended who was strolling near the hospital. During his search, 670 grams of fine quality Charas (Malana cream) was recovered from his possession.

INTERROGATION:  Mr. Ravindra Singh Yadav, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police, Crime,d said, during his interrogation, he confessed to work as a helper in Volvo bus which belongs to Laxmi Holidays company, operating between Kasol, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi. He further revealed that the recovered contraband of Charas was carried by Sahil, a bus driver, who instructed him to deliver the Charas near Divine Hospital. He further disclosed that Sahil is the only person who can provide details regarding the receiver and supplier of the Charas. From the information provided by Govind Saw, his associate Sahil was located and apprehended from Jagat Pur Village, Delhi. A case has been registered U/s 20/29 NDPS Act, PS Crime Branch and both accused have been arrested in the case.

MODUS OPERANDI: As per the disclosure statement of the accused, they had finalized the deal to supply the Charas through one supplier Ajay at Kasol (H.P), who is revealed to be a taxi driver. Ajay handed over the packets of Charas to Sahil. Further accused Sahil contacted with the receivers and he informed them about his time and place of delivery. Present delivery was scheduled to be fixed near Divine Hospital, Jagatpur, Wazirabad, Delhi. Accused Sahil sent his helper Govind Saw with the packet of Charas to delivery at the assigned place. Govind was caught red-handed with the contraband of Charas, weighing 670 grams. At the instance of accused Govind Saw, Shail was also arrested from Jagat Pur Village, Delhi.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS

Accused Sahil Rai, 37 years, R/o Mundi Kharar, Distt. Mohali, Punjab, currently resides at the same address with his wife, while his parents are living at their permanent address at Pudda Enclave, Nabha, District-Patiala, Punjab. In the year 2010, Sahil started working as a taxi driver in Patiala, Punjab. In the year 2017, he started driving for the Indo Canadian bus service on routes between Jalandhar – Delhi and also towards Shimla and Manali.

In the year 2022, Sahil began working as a driver for the Laxami Holiday company’s Volvo bus service, operating between Kasol and Delhi. Later on, Sahil began supplying Charas to make more money.

Accused Govind Saw, 41 years, R/o Pirho, Arwal, Bihar is a helper in the Laxmi Holiday Volvo bus company that operates between Kasol(H.P) and Delhi. He has studied up to the 3rd class only and lives with his family in Pirho, Rampurchay, District Arwal, Bihar.

In the year 2009, he started working as a helper in a bus owned by Ajay Travels in Connaught Place, Delhi. He left the job in 2015 due to the death of his wife, but returned to the same job in 2019. In the year of 2022, he started working as a helper in the Laxmi Holiday Volvo bus company, where he works with Sahil and got involved in the supply chain of Charas.
