The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Ernakulam(Kerala) has sentenced Shri P. Premakumaran, then Enforcement Officer, Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Regional Office, Kozhikode to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.50,000/- in a bribery case.

CBI had registered a case against the accused on the allegations that while working as Enforcement Officer in the Regional Office of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), Kozhikode (Kerala) demanded an illegal gratification of Rs. 50,000/- from the Complainant for showing undue favour by reducing the PF contribution towards the employees of the Complainant’s firm for the period 2018-2019 from Rs.8 lakh to Rs.4 lakh. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while demanding & accepting bribe from the Complainant.
